What Causes Hemorrhoids

As mentioned previously, it is not know what categorically causes hemorrhoids but there are certain demographics for which the risk of hemorrhoids is higher.
  • Pregnant Women. It's not specifically know why, but pregnant women are in the higher risk group for getting hemorrhoids. Whilst the reason is not clear, statistics can confirm they are more at risk.
  • Age 45 - 46 as one ages, the tissue supporting the hemorrhoids weeakens and can detach itself from the anal canal walls.
  • Obese people - People who are considerably overweight are also at risk from developing hemorrhoids.
Lack of dietary fiber. Poor diet lacking in fiber can result in constipation.
Forcing of stools - Trying in with insufficient fiber, hard stools can lead to constipation and thus too much straining being required to take a bowel movement.
