There are two classifications of hemorrhoids. There are internal and external hemorroids. What are External Hemorrhoids? The external hemorrhoids are the fleshy growth of enlarged veins and
tissues that bulge outside of the anus, right under the skin that is
surrounding the anal opening. External piles occur along the anus and can be extremely painful and can
cause bleeding in the anus. If you are experiencing this, have it
checked out by your doctor.
The causes of External Hemorrhoids are mainly due to constipation and
straining during the bowel movements. Pregnancy can also be another
cause. The most common cause is the prolonged sitting during a bowel
movement. Sitting for long periods of time is also not at all good for
External Hemorrhoids as it can worsen it. Other causes can be diarrhea,
lifting heavy objects, poor posture, prolonged sitting, eating a diet
low in fiber, anal intercourse, and being overweight. These conditions
lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins causing them to
swell.
